Newcastle assistant Jason Tindall goes viral for hilarious 'attention-seeking' antics alongside Eddi

Newcastle coach Jason Tindall is certainly among the more visible assistant managers that the Premier League has to offer.

The 45-year-old is a close ally of Eddie Howe having worked with him at both Bournemouth and now at St James' Park.

But with Howe being the main man, it means that Tindall must settle for a role in the background.

At least, that's what convention would suggest.

Speaking on CBS Sports about Tindall's reputation, Howe said: “That’s something that we’ve never really talked about really.

We’re both very active on the sidelines and I’ve encouraged Jason to be that way.

“We were very much a partnership when we started in management – we try to do everything that we can to help the players.

"We’re situated on the front there and in the game he gradually makes his way over [to the fourth official] because he’s on my left! But he’s a great guy and he’s been brilliant for me this year.”

That reputation is clear to see with Tindall, who played almost 200 games for Bournemouth before retiring in 2011, going viral on social media for his 'attention-seeking' antics.

A Twitter page, titled 'Jason Tindall desperate to be centre of attention', has been sharing light-hearted images of him where he appears to be pushing to be front and centre of the action.

This includes images of Tindall looking to partake in handshakes with opposition managers in front of Howe.

That was on show when he shook Mikel Arteta's hand first after Arsenal beat the Magpies 2-0 on Sunday.

And he also beat Howe in the race to shake Thomas Frank's hand following Newcastle's 2-1 victory away at Brentford last month.

Though he did look slightly disappointed after Bournemouth boss Gary O'Neil opted to acknowledge Howe first earlier this season.

Tindall has also made it a habit of greeting Newcastle's players off the pitch first after they have been substituted.

He has even appeared in the foreground of TV pictures during managerial interviews with Howe.

Though it is all fun and games with Tindall and Howe boasting a great relationship.
